Finding new authors is hard. Gimmicks are everywhere. Catchy sprayed edges, beautiful artwork that may or may not relate to the story's content, and free paraphernalia abound. Don't get me wrong, I will buy a book for the pretty cover and free matching bookmark, but sometimes I want to get a feel for the author's style before I commit to a purchase.
This is why I have a lot of writing available for free through Wattpad and Amazon KU (Kindle Unlimited). I want to give readers a taste test so they can decide for themselves if they want to invest in me. If they read my free work and decide it's not for them, no harm was done and no money was lost.
The following are short snippets of what I offer for free to my readers! Click on the links and read for yourself!
Genre: Paranormal Fiction
Subgenre: Romance/Mystery
Disclaimer: This story is on-going and contains blood, violence, death, sex, vampires, succubi, angels, witches/warlocks.
POV: dual first person from Lena and Jason's perspectives.
Blurb:
I'm a celibate succubus detective, required to feed on lust
and other people getting it on. It's not filling, but I'll survive. The
alternative is deadly. I work for the Bureau solving supernatural murders with
my special necromancy skills. The murder of my mundane human friend, Olivia,
threatens my quiet life. Worse, it forces me to work intimately close with a
man my succubus side has been obsessing over for years. I just might end my
celibacy for Jason Dade and kill him in the process.

in her visions, but she lives in a world dominated by men. Of all the clans,
she was born into the traditional male-only Elders who will not accept her
abilities. They will never let her truly become one of them. Even her childhood
friend, Cedric, has signed the papers forcing her to mate someone of their
choosing. Wanting one last fling, she sneaks off with a handsome stranger
before assuming her assigned role as mate. She's not ready to give up on her
destiny of two mates and, despite their dictates, she still hopes the Elders
will allow her to join their ranks.

being a rock star and he loves his band but the inspiration isn't
coming. When his friend Leon mentions wanting to sell his Vegas night
club, Mitch thinks this could be the side project he needs to weather
his writer's block.
Dina Murray is inspired to change her life
after her brother's death. With absentee parents, Dina has spent most of
her life caring for Christian who was born with cystic fibrosis. Before
he died, Christian made Dina promise she would start living her life
for herself. Problem is, she has no idea how to do that. Her whole life
she has been focused on two things; her career and her brother. When her
college friend Leon offers to sell his Vegas night club, it's a fresh

POV: First person limited from Tabitha and Russell's perspectives.
Blurb:
"That
night, twelve years ago. The memories flashed briefly in her mind; a
cute little café, a piece of chocolate cake, and an almost kiss on the
suspension bridge above the Reedy River."
When Tabitha returns to
her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina for the holiday break, she
learns Russell Larson's band, Heathenauts, will be performing a concert
at a local music bar. She doesn't expect to reconnect with Russell.
She's content to follow - stalk - him from afar on social media and
internet news platforms. From the varsity basketball senior to the
pseudo-famous indie-rock star, Russell has always been a fantasy. When
he recognizes her at the bar and invites her backstage, Tabitha's shy
high school demeanor threatens to return. Will she let Russell have the
kiss she denied him twelve years ago?
Russell Larson doesn't do
anything halfway. He's all in with whatever he sets his mind to.
Reconnecting with Tabitha, is all consuming, overwhelming, and love
feels instant, but he's pushed women away before with his suffocating
emotions. He's been hurt before too. His experiences from the past do
not stop him from asking Tabitha to join him and his band on his
European summer tour within a day of reconnecting with her. Will he
convince her to join him? Or will it be like high school all over again?
Russell refuse to go another twelve years without her.
